Back to work!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I am starting off the new year with a few mini sculpts on tiny wooden antique trinket boxes plus two other smaller pieces.  They should be done within a day.

Inspiration vs copying art

It has come to my attention...again that some folks, two to be exact, can't seem to find their own idea's to sculpt.  I am totally ok with inspiration.  I find it myself where ever I go and somehow maybe without even knowing it its incorporated into my art.  For example, two weeks ago I received this utterly amazing "cheesy" grin from someone I adore.  The next day... A Santa with my version of that same "cheesy" grin appeared out of clay.  That is art.  That is being inspired.  Copying someone's hard thought out designs is just plain rude.  Its stealing.  Would you come to my home, open my door and take what you think is yours?  I would hope not.  So please, after one year of these shenanigans... stop.  Find your own way.  Sit and draw out your art before you sculpt.  Like I do.  Get off the internet and work. You might be amazed at how creative you really can be :)

Sale ornaments

Today 12/10/12 I lowered the prices of the three Christmas ornaments posted below. I initially made these to be wall decor items so hence the 55.00 each.  As they should be priced.  But I bet someone would rather view them as ornaments (as suggested) so they are now 45.00.  These are wonderful "ornaments" that will not be repeated (no more of that cool metal snowflake in stock).  You will be pleasantly surprised!

All moved and settling in.  I just re-opened up my Etsy shop and I'm good to go!  New art will be available as soon as I get my work space in check.  I should be back to work by Friday.  Moving was exhausting but this is a great new layer of life for me (understatement!).  I am really REALLY experiencing the best time of my life.  Deep sigh....  finally.  I now have two work rooms so I am not cramped up in one small space.  I have a wonderful awesome guy who understands and loves what I do for a living.  Life is just plain ol awesome :)  xo
