Christmas Crows and Santa's!

FINALLY done... that took soooooooooooooooooooooo long. These two sets of Christmas pieces have lots of detail with extra this and that. Please note that the Santa on the left is NOT available. Everything else is. Favorites are the middle Holly Santa and the Christmas Crow Snowman rider. But they are all fabulous and can be found on my website at www.pumpkin-seeds.com under OTHER holiday folk art.

Crazy winds

I said weeks back that from time to time I would post comments about my experience of living on the beach. Well, last night gives me a reason to post... no, not a bear action this time. WIND! BIG winds. Winds like I've never seen or heard. Around midnight I woke up to the house howling. I took a peek outside and watched as the winds and rain raced from left to right in a horizontal fashion, like a speeding train. Gusts that I swear would tear off the roof and take out the windows. I closed the blinds and went back to bed covering my head. Two hours went by then it subsided. But that was only enough for me to get back to sleep. I again woke up to a loud strange noise coming from the front deck. The winds where so strong that it took a garden bench that probably weights some where around 80lbs and turned it completely around and 10 feet from its original position. I feared it would fly away so I went out and moved it closer to the house. Those winds where STRONG! I was thinking about how those news people go out in gale force winds to report. All I needed was a microphone! The winds where crazy warm too. At 4 am that was a refreshing way to wake up. BIG TIME! Gotta love the Oregon coast line :)

What's in the works

Today I started on three Santa's and two Christmas crows. The Santa's are very similar in style and design as to what will be reproduced by Enesco for the Christmas 2010 line. Just think, an original! The Christmas Crows are my first. Should be fun to finish and show. Look for these to appear on my website within the next 3-5 days.

Beach mystery solved

My friend Patrick seems to have solved the mystery. Who would have thought that baby jellyfish where creepy? Not I. As you can see from this jellyfish life cycle, I found what appears to be number 1,2 and 3 stage. And are they sprouting from the sand? Not born? OK, it might be time for some biology classes here. Fascinating at best :)

Sun and beach and all that is good... except............

OK.................. some one PLEASE tell me what the heck those pink larvae wormy things are! Please.

As you can see I had the beach all to myself :) Bitch'in or what? Maybe it was because of those pink nasty thingies all over the beach or perhaps its because Oregon is amazing and no one knows that yet. Roxy and I had a hard time trying to avoid walking on those beach boogers. After about a mile of walking I got grossed out. OK anyone know?

sculpin fish

Check out what my daughter caught off the jetty here in Florence Oregon. Its called a sculpin fish. The pic does not show the fish "puffed" out but when he was his fins fanned out on each side and poisonous spines at the ends that give a painful sting. This is some type of bottom feeder that was a good CREEPY Halloween fish at best :) Of course, we sent him back like we do all the fishes of the earth.

Cotton spun fun!

Its been a bit dusty in here! No posts for months... so sorry. With the holidays behind us I've been ramping up for 2024. What's ne...
