Doll challange

Here is my submission for the dolly day challenge. Faerie Window asked that for today we submit our favorite doll. The troll is my entry. This doll has been with me since... forever. The reason why I choose this "doll" is that is has a sentimental story. This is the doll I cuddled with at night (ya, it explains a lot). I actually had two. The other half of this ones size. Both went everywhere with me. This red head "Damn It" doll stands about 18 inches tall. I used to spend the night at my grandmothers house and bring along this troll. She used to tuck me in at night and pick up the troll and ask me time and time again, why "this" doll? Then she would laugh. See, she didn't like the troll because in the middle of the night it would fall out of my bed and hit the floor like a brick! She had hardwood floors. Poor grandma would wake up and be frightened thinking something was wrong. But it was only me and my troll.
The other two that stand beside the red head are some pieces I picked up probably from that auction site. Although not of sentimental value they do bring me a smile. They both get top billing in my cabinet of curiosities :)

Another Troll lover!! Mom used to spend hours making outfits for the barbies I never really played with. I would take them and cut them up and make clothes for my troll dolls. (Bad bad girl)
I had a couple of favorites and the troll horse to give to my daughter to add to her troll collection. They were all stolen several years ago.

Gram's are the best!! You gave her such a tickle over that Troll doll. I always had a stuffed rabbit that I would hold onto by its ear and carry it everywhere. Gram would read me the Velveteen Rabbit every night before bed when I was with her, which was often. I now love your cute-ugly-funny lil troll doll too!

Ya! Another troll lover. I didn't have Barbies. Never wanted one. I was very happy with my trolls. And like you I made clothes for them. I would cut felt up and make silly dresses. Then take them across the street to the plum orchard and pull out lumps of glass to make caves. Such fun!
I also had one of those very smelly plastic cases to carry trolls in that resembled a cave. Remember those?

I totally forgot about my troll doll. He was the first thing I ever purchased at a flea market when I was a kid. Love your story!

Love the troll, love the story! I had a small troll doll in college, we used to rub his belly for luck while playing drinking games - not nearly as cute of a story as yours! The two clowns next to red head are totally cool too!

I remember the troll dolls! How funny that you scared your grandmother with a thump of a troll in the night!

Those trolls were such fun---I always loved the hair! Of course I also had a collection and would make little outfits from my grandmoms sewing scraps.
That is really funny that you slept with a troll....not into the soft and cuddly? Poor Grandma :)

Marie, my other smaller troll has lost most of his hair. Comes with aging! Poor guy. It was from all the brushing and braids! Ya, he was even cuter with braids.
