Tsunami warning
This morning I got a taste of what's its truly like living on the beach. Around 9 am or so I was up stairs working away when I hear sirens. Loud! What on Earth? I mean, I knew it was a tsunami warning but are you kidding me??? So I look at out at the sea... it all looks good. So receding of waves, no one getting in there cars zooming off to higher ground. My heart was racing as I have never heard these things blow off before. After about 3 minutes it stopped. So I waited again and watched for street activity. Nothing and no more alarms. Whew! OK so at least I know what to expect. Sure would be nice to know when they test these darn things! Coastal living. Gotta love it!

Reminder of my local (oregon) signing dates
I will be posting this as a reminder of Novembers Oregon special Enesco signings I have coming up. At each event I can sign each reproduction figure that you purchase through the wonderful gift stores listed, bring your own to have it signed or have a chance to purchase a few special made pieces made exclusively for each store. Limited to 2 each for each for The Flower Basket and Hirons.
I hope to see you there!
I saw BEAR!
OK I finally saw this mystery bear and OH MY! I had no clue. He was HUMONGOUS! I was thinking that the he was, you know, kinda average small brown bearish type of deal. But at 3:44 am, through my bedroom window I saw this slow roly poly mass of brown fur waddling around by my car. I heard the trash can fall over and that is what woke me. So now again, on this lovely Wednesday morning I get to pick up trash. I enjoyed seeing him and have been wanting to spot the big guy but hate paying the price of trash pick up. So off I go... rubber gloves in tow. (I swear to get a pic one day so I can share). xoxo

Shoe Santa
This is my favorite sculpture of all time. Lance from Crescent Hill is the designer. Amazingly creative! Look at that little zipper!
Seashore Skelly
Welcome abroad Seashore Skelly! And in his arm his little starfish find. You can find him and other newly sculpted creations at www.janellberryman.com

Ended the week with a Skelly and his starfish. I'm not sure where the inspiration for this piece came from... ; ) He's wearing an old fashioned one piece swimsuit with a matching swim cap. Come back later to see him complete. If anything, it will make you laugh!
I also added a 5 x 5 gallery wrap day of the dead skull painting to my etsy shop. Link below.

Here are the newest pieces just added to my website www.pumpkin-seeds.com
The Halloween is under the Halloween page and the other three are under "other holidays".
I also am having a secret sale of 3 of the snowmen that I post a few weeks back. Go check

Just wanted to share a few pics as promised of where I'm living. I set up a made-shift work area that still needs adjusting. There is a very tight spiral staircase so I was not able to bring up a nice size table and my other shelving. I did get lucky and there where a few things up here that I could use like some bookshelves. Its hard getting used to a new setup and trying find this and that. Surely in a week or two it will all be normal again:) As you can see Roxy cant walk up the stairs. Its made of metal and she's terrified of it. Major bummer. Wish I could make a hoist or something! Luckily the beach is wearing her out and she's not even thinking about upstairs. As you can see from the pic xoxo OH and on the table are a few of the pieces I am working on now. :)

Special visitor
Meet Harpo. No, I am not lucky enough to be the proud owner of such a magnificent little man but my excellent friends Amy and Steve are. Harpo and my best friends came for a visit today. Harpo LOVES miss Roxy :) They played all afternoon and had a good time as well as I did. A fun trip to town, eating at a local fish restaurant then a mandatory stop at the candy store to get a chunk of yummy sea foam. Thank you Amy, Steve and Harpo for a wonderful afternoon xoxo

Ocean, Kate, Roxy and me :)
I've arrived! This is amazing :) Last night I stood on the beach with my daughter and Roxy my dog. We watched the sunset which was bright orange and red mixed with big puffy storm clouds. Roxy was loving it! She wanted to take home a seashell. So cute! So my first night was great except that I woke up to find that a black bear had gotten into the trash that the owner left behind :( She warned me about the bears and last night I thought I heard something but decided not to check... duh. Seems the bear loved her "I cant believe its not butter" plastic container because he had ripped in right in half. I could see the teeth marks. Scary. I am not going to call whom ever it is that you can call because they will kill the bear. That is wrong. SO instead I will hope that the garbage man takes this away soon. Its too bad this place has no garage so I could stash away the trash till then. Maybe, I will try and get some pictures. Maybe. If you dont hear from me ever again you can only guess that my idea was a bad one. xoxo

Octobers adventures
Its Sunday night and I again spent another day packing and sorting out what to take and what to leave behind. I cant believe how much sorting I have done and still need to do. It wont take much more than another day or two and I am ready to roll. So much art supplies. That is what this is all about. Its not about clothes, shoes, personal stuff. I just toss the jeans, tee's and tennies in a box and I am ready. My concern was art supplies. Do I take all the clay, all the canvas's and ALL that paint? Or hold off and pack those away. Such a quandary.
So if you keep up with my blog you know that I am moving this Thursday to the coast. By myself. Yes, its true. I found a sweet little house a half a block from the water. Not just water but the ocean. Its a dream that has been in my head and heart for years and years. Its time. The house will be mine for 6 months. During this period of time hopefully many things will have taken place. This art girl is in need of some personal time to clear her head. I'm ok. I'm just smothered in a blanket of nothingness and living in a dead world. Ya, that's pretty dramatic sounding but its either leave and find myself or hate myself for never knowing.
I hope to post my coastal adventures here or possibly another blog. All of that will come in about a week or two.
Love you all. Janell
